Communicating during COVID-19

SAS and our employees have always volunteered our expertise and resources in times of crisis, and we are proud to do so again to help the world combat the coronavirus and the challenges it brings to our life and our work.

The assets on this page will help you create empathetic, intelligent communications that reflect our brand values and the care we give to our customers and partners.

Check back for updates as the situation evolves.

COVID-19 Guidelines

For decades, our customers have known us as a company that cares about them and their success. In this time of crisis, it's more important than ever that they know we're here for them and see us embodying our company values in every communication we have with them.

These guides will help you make sure our voice is a consistent and compassionate one. The content you create should include an acknowledgment of the human impact of this crisis and convey a sense of trust and reassurance, optimism and determination.

COVID-19 High-Priority Use Cases

Visit Mercury to get the latest details and related assets on how SAS is being used in the fight against COVID-19. You can promote use cases with the approved social graphics on the Sprinklr board linked below, which will be updated as new graphics become available.

Imagery

Photography is a reflection of the world around us. The images you select should acknowledge the reality of what is happening, but convey a sense of trust and reassurance, optimism and determination. They should promote a sense of social responsibility and everyday heroism.

Focus on the actions people are performing, not on the people themselves. Avoid overly expressive photos. People shouldn’t be looking at the camera and smiling, nor should they look worried. Be sensitive. More than ever it is important to avoid clichés and metaphors.

Consider showing health care providers, emergency providers, everyday heroes, families working remotely, social distancing and those industries most heavily affected such as travel, retail, health care, food and beverage, entertainment and the supply chain.

Icons

Icons can add levity and variety to your communication. But used excessively or too prominently, they can send the wrong message. We want to convey that we take this crisis seriously but still maintain the flexibility that iconography can provide.

SAS employees can access SAS-owned assets through MARS. Simply log in and select the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
filter in the left column as well as Asset Type: Illustration. Please contact mars.help@sas.com if you need a MARS account login and include the reason for needing access.

Important note: Please give consideration to your use of the COVID-19 icon. It should not be used in close proximity to the SAS logo, nor should it be overused. Its best use is as a subtle graphical element, watermark or in association with an event like a Hack-a-thon.
