Building Signage
SAS has offices all over the world. Our locations vary widely with regard to environmental settings, building materials and architectural designs. Many of our properties beautifully represent the cultural history where they are located. Still, signs that identify our properties should have a consistent appearance whenever possible. Exterior signage reflects our overall brand in a very visible way.
Because our locations are often unique, it is impossible to mandate specific type, size, color, and fabrication materials that will work for every situation. We can provide general guidelines, however, so that our company is always recognizable, no matter where our offices are located.
If you plan to have a custom sign manufactured, please contact us first to review placement and design. We will counsel you throughout the process to ensure brand consistency and advise you about fabrication techniques.
General Guidelines
What Our Sign Says
Our exterior signage is very simple: It consists of the SAS logo, and nothing else.
Color Choices for Logo Signage
- The S brand mark should be SAS blue (PMS 285).
- The SAS word mark can be black, white, or stainless steel. The choice will be determined by the material and color on which the sign is mounted. Choose the color that provides the best contrast and legibility.
Other Considerations
Whether the sign should be on a free-standing monument or mounted on the side of a building depends on the individual characteristics of the setting. Factors that must be taken into account are:
Characteristics of the Property
- Scale and placement for good visibility and readability
- Lighting options
- High-quality materials and finishes that are locally available
- Mounting hardware
- Maintenance and safety
- Local building codes and zoning rules
- Cultural standards
Lighting
If lighting is required, signage may be externally or internally lit, depending on the placement and materials used.
Neon signs, halo lighting, and other techniques that distort the shape of the SAS logo are NOT permitted.

General Guidelines
The interior spaces of SAS offices may vary widely in terms of building materials, art, and architectural designs, depending on the region or country where they are located. In keeping with our tradition of honoring diversity, the style of our offices often reflects the local culture. But without exception, our interior reception signage is simply our logo, and nothing else.
As with exterior signage, our interior logo signs should look as similar as possible, regardless of whether they are in Cary, North Carolina, or Warsaw, Poland, or any other of our worldwide locations. The logo sign reflects our overall brand in a very visible way, and from one office to another, it should be the clear identifier of SAS, not to be confused with any other company.
Because our locations are often unique, it is impossible to mandate specific type, size, color and fabrication materials that will work for every situation. We provide general guidelines, however, so that our company is always recognizable, no matter where it is.
SAS Corporate Headquarters in Cary can furnish regional and country offices with a standard logo sign, free of charge, as defined below. Please contact us to request a sign.
If you prefer to have a custom sign manufactured, please tell us so that we can review the design criteria. We will counsel you throughout the process and advise you about fabrication techniques to ensure brand consistency.
The primary goal of interior logo signage guidelines is to foster brand consistency. By displaying the standard interior logo sign provided by SAS Corporate Headquarters whenever possible, you will know that your sign is correct.
Logo size, material, and placement may vary in some cases due to the individual characteristics of particular settings like painted walls, wall coverings, and wood or glass surfaces.
